Welcome to Blooms and Harvest! If you've ever found yourself staring at your garden, wondering what on earth to plant next, you're in the right place. Gardening has this magical ability to connect us with nature and with ourselves. It’s about finding that special spark—the muse, if you will—that inspires us to dig in and create something beautiful. A garden muse is anything that stirs your creative spirit and motivates you to cultivate your green space, whether it's a person, a place, or a brilliant idea.
In this blog, I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite gardening podcasts that have become my go-to sources for inspiration—my garden muses! From stories that make me laugh out loud to tips that have transformed my garden, these podcasts are a delightful mix of humor, wisdom, and practical advice. I hope they become your favorites, too!

Inspiring Gardening Podcasts
1. Garden Culture with Bailey Van Tassel Podcast
This fabulous podcast is hosted by Bailey Van Tassel, a beautiful storyteller who invites you into her garden and life. Bailey began urban gardening with a few raised beds and eventually turned her California urban side yard into a lush, productive garden. She tries to grow the majority of her family's food and is a self-proclaimed self-taught gardener and wannabe homesteader.
Bailey decided to turn her homesteading dream into a reality and move her family and garden to Tennessee in 2024. Her charming, personable nature will inspire you one way or another both in your garden and in life. She has inspired me immensely, including starting Blooms and Harvest, and is truly a garden muse.
I'm looking forward to her new book, Kitchen Garden Living. I pre-ordered it on day one of release, which will be out in December 2024, and know this gardening book will make a wonderful gardening gift for myself or another gardening friend. If you need a gift for a gardener, click here.
The Garden Culture podcast can be found on Spotify, Audible, and other podcast channels.
2. My Garden Podcast with Penny Haslam
This podcast is a pure joy and will have you laughing out loud. Penny is the voice in my head when I’m ‘giving it a go’ in the garden, as she would say. I always wished for an English accent, and Penny lets me live vicariously through her UK garden adventures. She shares her experiences of ‘real gardening,’ from dying sunflowers to lettuce overwhelm. Penny will brighten your spirits and make you laugh with her relatable tales. You'll relax as you listen and realize you’re not the only one who cannot pronounce, nor cares about, the Latin names of your plants. Don’t miss this entertaining and well-produced podcast, which I call a gardener’s delight.
The My Garden Podcast can be found on Spotify, Audible, and other podcast channels.
3. BBC Gardeners' World Magazine Podcast
Short on listening time? Their Tea-Break Tutorials are quick 20-minute episodes that give sound planting advice. These perfectly produced episodes serve a large audience and sound more like television shows. They’re a quick, good listen when you want to scratch your gardening itch.
The BBC Gardeners' World Podcast can be found on Spotify, Audible, and other podcast channels.
